It’s rare that I get too into my personal life on here and on social media. I love sharing my travels, but there are aspects of my life that I prefer to keep private. In a world where public and personal lives have too few boundaries, I am extremely happy with my decision. However, there are times when I feel the need to clue my readers and audience into some aspects of my life. Lately, I’ve been super quiet on here, so I do want to explain why. But more than that, I am excited to tell you why. My life has taken a huge turn, one I couldn’t be more happy about.
After arriving home from our trip around the United States, John and I discovered that I was pregnant. Which means that a little wanderer is on his or her way at the end of this year! We couldn’t be more excited for the baby’s arrival, and I am so happy to share the news with you. Now, instead of planning next trips, we are figuring out a more settled life, at least for the time being. Of course, there are a few trips in the works as well.
What’s amazing to me is how much has happened in my life since leaving my job almost two years ago. At the time, I remember feeling so stuck and terrified of never amounting to what I had hoped. I wanted to see more of the world and truly experience life, to push myself out of my comfort zone more often. In those years of teaching, I felt like nothing ever changed, and these last few years have felt like such an incredible journey. It’s proof to me that leaving my job was the right thing to do.
Now, John and I embark on a new adventure together, one we couldn’t be more thrilled about. We cannot wait to take this baby with us as we travel around the US and beyond, and to teach him or her about the world’s cultures, traditions, and religions even while we are not traveling. This new journey is one I have been waiting for my whole life and one I am looking forward to in so many ways.
I still have so much to tell you about from our road trip, so much I want to share. So stay turned for that, as well as a few updates about our little one and new adventure. It’s going to be a busy few months!
