As a frequent traveler and one who prefers to travel light, I am always on the lookout for bags that make my life easier. Already a fan of Lo & Sons and their popular Catalina canvas bag, I was excited to test out their O.G. In the past few months I’ve used it as both an overnight bag and a carry on, and it has become my go-to bag while traveling – I rarely leave home without it.
But, what makes this bag different than the rest? It’s the most convenient bag I’ve ever used. It’s as if Lo & Sons have thought of everything I could possibly need a compartment for and they’ve put it in this bag. But, the feature I appreciate the most is the fact that it easily slips onto the handles of a rolling suitcase making it a solo traveler’s dream come true.
I can’t even count the number of times my shoulders have ached from carrying my carry on bag through the airport or on public transportation on the way to my destination. I’ve tried wrapping my bag around my rolling suitcase to make matters easier, but it always winds up slipping to the opposite side of the handles and dragging across the floor. This is a major reason why I couldn’t wait to try Lo & Son’s O.G.
I’ve tested this feature in airports and I love it, but I think my autumn trip to Maine tested it the most. I endured a long bus ride that included a couple of transfers. Being able to grab my suitcase from below the bus and pop the O.G. over my handles and seamlessly roll away in Boston and New York’s Port Authority bus stations, kept my frustration level low during the long journey.
While this seems to be where the obsession with the bag lies, there are more reasons why I love it. The next best feature would have to be the side pocket, perfect for shoes. In fact, during my trip to Canada this summer, I was able to bring six pairs of shoes including two pairs of boots, mainly because I could fit two pairs in the O.G.’s pocket. The best part is that it keeps the shoes separate from the rest of the items in the bag, which is perfect for cleanliness.
The bag can hold a 13-inch laptop making it ideal for my lifestyle as a travel blogger. The area for the laptop is well protected, and I’ve always felt it was extra safe in this spot. It also makes it easy to take out for those airport security screenings.
There are a ton of pockets, a holder for keys, and it all fits perfectly in a bag that is also beautiful. Honestly, it holds so much that I often feel like Mary Poppins with it! It’s sleek, fashionable, and travel-worthy for any style-conscience traveler. There are seven different colors to choose from, but I was partial to the black exterior, purple interior, and gold accessories. I plan on using this bag throughout all of my adventures in 2017. Lo & Sons sent me the O.G. to test out and review. As always, all views and opinions are my own. You can buy the O.G. for $295 or a smaller version of the bag, The O.M.G., for $275.
