I can hardly believe it, but today marks five years of world wandering! When I started blogging, I had absolutely no idea what I was doing or where it would take me. Through a series of mistakes, experiments, and putting myself completely out of my comfort zone at times, I am where I am today, and I have never been happier.
This past year has been a whirlwind for me full of opportunities, experiences, and changes, that I would never have predicted during the humble beginnings of The World Wanderer. I can still remember sitting in the airport in Aukland, New Zealand ready to head to Fiji, attempting to handwrite my first blog post. I had no name and no idea who would even want to read what I had to say, but I knew I wanted an outlet for my travel stories.
After returning home, I sat for endless hours thinking up a name, figuring out a host site, and wondering what I was doing. But, eventually, almost three months later, I figured it out. There have been a lot of twists and turns, self-doubt, confidence boosters, and unknown paths I’ve traveled down because of this creation; never did I predict that my blog would lead me to discover so much about myself, introduce me to new people, or allow me to quit my job and pursue my dreams.
But, I am where I am today because I had a dream and a vision for what I wanted my life to be. It hasn’t been easy, but it’s been worth it every step of the way. I can’t wait to see where it takes me next.
Thanks to you all for continuing to follow along with me on this journey. Some of you have been with me from the very beginning, and others are new to the adventure. Either way, I’m just so glad you’re here with me.
Here’s a recap of all of my travels since starting The World Wanderer – enjoy!
