15 Inspiring Travel Quotes.

I’m always looking for the perfect words to describe how I feel about travel, how places far from home fill me with joy and give me a sense of belonging from the second I land. These places are new to me, and yet with so many of them, I feel that part of my soul has known these places long before I arrive.

Over the years, I have started to collect my favorite inspiring travel quotes, the ones that seem to speak directly to me, the ones I can relate to above all else. Through reading them, I began to feel a sense of belonging and one of understanding. I was not the only one who felt this way about travel and the world, I was not alone in my thoughts.

“Traveling is the great true love of my life. I am loyal and constant in my love of travel. Because it looks exactly like me.” Elizabeth Gilbert

“I never knew of a morning in Africa when I woke up that I was not happy.” Ernest Hemingway

“To move, to breathe, to fly, to float,to gain all while you give,to roam the roads of lands remote, to travel is to live.” Hans Christian Andersen

“I remembered that the real world was wide, and that a varied field of hopes and fears, of sensations and excitements, awaited those who had the courage to go forth into it’s expanse, to seek real knowledge of life amidst it’s perils.” Charlotte Brontë

“Travel changes you. As you move through this life and this world, you change things slightly, you leave marks behind, however small. And in return, life – and travel – leaves marks on you. Most of the time, those marks – on your body or on your heart – are beautiful. Often, though, they hurt.” Anthony Bourdain
