In celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, I thought it was important to make this week’s Music Monday song one from an Irish artist. I had a few artists in mind, but Kodaline, from Dublin, is a band I have been listening to for a while and their voices and lyrics are too beautiful not to share.
Singer, Steve Garrigan describes music as therapy, on the band’s website. In my life, I have found music to be the greatest therapy. Listening to the lyrics of a song and connecting is therapeutic because it’s the realization that someone else in the world has experienced something I have experienced or something I am going through.
It was hard to chose a song to share, as I love all of them, but All I Want is my most recent favorite. I can relate to the lyrics, and it hits a certain place for me. If you like this one, be sure to check out their others, and enjoy your St. Patrick’s Day!
Song: All I Want (Part 1)
So you brought out the best of me,
A part of me I’d never seen.
You took my soul and wiped it clean.
Our love was made for movie screens.
But, if you loved me
Why’d you leave me?
