Before last winter, I detested the cold and everything that went with it. That was until I made it my mission to fall in love with everything the season had to offer, and fall in love I did. Much of this had to do with my two visits to Lake Placid and some Adirondack adventure.
I spent last season pushing myself in every way to fall in love with winter, and several of those activities happened in the New York town. Not only is Lake Placid perfect for adventure, it’s also perfect for learning to love winter. Tonight, I’ll be road tripping up to the Adirondacks with Craig of Stay Adventurous, Francesca of The Working Mom’s Travels, and Raúl of I Live to Travel, for what the town does best: adventure!
What’s on the agenda? January 11th is National Winter Trails Day and to celebrate there’s Winterfest. Here we’ll do snowshoeing, nordic skiing, and ice skating to name a few activities on the agenda. Hopefully, the weather will be cold enough to join in on the fun!
We are also hoping to get in a visit to High Falls Gorge, the Olympic Museum, and the spa. Oh yes, and there will be plenty of eating and drinking as we make our way through the town.
You’re going to want to follow along with us on our adventure, so be sure to follow us on Twitter with the hashtags #TravelLakePlacid and #RWLP (We are reviving the Real World hashtag we loved so dearly during TBEX for this special event).
While I have had my share of Adirondack adventures, this is one trip I am really looking forward to. Good times with great friends with plenty of cold weather fun. What more could you ask for?
