My #Movember #ManlyMoments Bucket List.

Happy #Movember!

My #Movember #ManlyMoments Bucket List.

From falling leaves to crisp, cool air, November is one of my favorite months of the year. But, what makes it even more special is that it is #Movember, a month where men around the world grow mustaches to show support and raise awareness for men’s health, specifically testicular and prostate cancer.

But, fortunately, since I cannot grow a mustache of my own to show support, I will instead be joining Raymond Walsh from Man on the Lam, along with other bloggers, including Leah from Leah Travels (who tagged me), to complete a #ManlyMoments bucket list in support for the cause.

Happy #Movember!

I have a pretty long list of what I would like to accomplish in my lifetime, but for the purpose of this list, I decided to narrow it down to my biggest, most adventurous activities.

Participate in the Mongol Rally

The Mongol Rally is an event I have been hoping to participate in for a while now, and this summer, I am making that dream a reality.  So far, I have my team, my entrance fee is paid, and preparations are officially underway.  This is sure to be one of my biggest adventures yet, and I am already counting down the days for the arrival of July 19th.  If you don’t know what the Mongol Rally is all about, be sure to watch the video above, then be sure to check back and follow my adventures this summer.

Visit my Final Continent – Antarctica

This is an accomplishment that has been on my mind for the past few years.  Originally, my intention was to visit my last continent before I turn thirty, but at the moment, that doesn’t seem like a viable option.  So instead, I am planning to visit the continent in celebration of my thirtieth birthday, giving myself one more year to better plan the trip.  Plus, I can’t think of a better way to start off a new decade in my life.

Climb Mount Kilimanjaro

Climbing Kilimanjaro has been on my bucket list for quite some time, and while I couldn’t make it happen on my first trip to Africa, I am going to make sure it happens on my next trip. While, I am also not sure when this will happen, I would love for it to be in the next few years. I know that it will be one of the most difficult adventures I have planned, but it is a challenge I am willing to undertake.

Climb the Highest Peaks in the United States

On the top of Mt Marcy, New York

This one is super adventurous, but something I would love to at least attempt.  Just as climbing Kilimanjaro will be quite a feat, I know that this too is no easy task.  Sure, some of the peaks are relatively easy, but along with them are some of the most dangerous climbs in the world.  It will take dedication and hard-work, but I am willing to give it a try and attempt to climb all of the highest peaks in the United States. So far, I already have accomplished one out of fifty by climbing Mt Marcy in New York, so one down, forty-nine to go! But, who’s counting?

Move Abroad

Ready for expat life?

Yes, expat life is a bucket list item that is very high on my list. For years, I wasn’t sure I could have the courage to pick up and move far away from family and friends, but after my best friend moved to London, I am realizing that it’s actually a possibility I am comfortable with.  Europe is a continent I am considering, and I have already started working on my forms to gain Irish citizenship, which will make it easier to live and work abroad.

How You Can Get Involved:

Since the aim is raising awareness of Movember and men’s health issues, any blogger that is interested can get involved by doing the following:

  • Choose five activities you’d like to do and create your own #ManlyMoments Bucket List – they can be something you commit to do during Movember, or simply something you’d like to do before you kick the bucket. (Ladies, this is open to you too!)
  • Nominate five bloggers to create their own #ManlyMoments Bucket List.
  • Include a link to Movember to encourage people to register or donate.
  • Tweet and share your posts with the hashtags #Movember and #ManlyMoments

Not a Blogger? You can still help. Here’s how:

Since the aim is raising awareness of Movember and men’s health issues, I know the power the blogging community has to do just that. I’m asking any blogger that is interested to get involved by doing the following:

  • Read along as Raymond attempts to complete his Manly Bucket List at
  • Follow along on Facebook and Twitter with the hashtags #Movember and #ManlyMoments
  • Go to to find out more about men’s health issues, support a Mo Bro or Mo Sistah, or to register to become one yourself.
  • Check out the schedule for the Made Man Movember Mo’asis Bus Tour and come on by if you are in the neighborhood for free shaves and tons of great activities.
  • Last but not least, DONATE!

Also, each time you send a tweet, Vine, Instagram, or post to Facebook with your own manly photo, or text using the hashtag #ManlyMoments, the folks at Made Man will donate $1 to the Movember cause.  You’ll also be entered into a draw for a Trip for Two to Las Vegas to experience your very own Mancation, which includes the Top Gun Experience from Sky Combat Ace.

Blogger Nominations:

The bloggers that I nominate to create their own Manly Bucket List are:

Ashley and Carolyn at The Lazy Travelers
Britany at Stars on the Ceiling
Coleman at Life Waits For No One
Ryan at Just Chuckin It!
Vanessa at Turnipseed Travel

I can relate to your live abroad. My wife and I plan to move to England. Her mom is British and we are working on getting her citizenship so it makes living there easier. I really want to hear how the Rally came about for you two. I’m seriously very interested in this story.
