A Wedding Weekend in Washington: What I Packed

Erin and Lola love Washington!

A Wedding Weekend in Washington: What I Packed

When two people you care about decide to spend the rest of their lives together, you find a way to help them celebrate, even if it means going across the country for the weekend. This is exactly what Lauren and I decided to do, in order to help our dear friends Captain and Clark celebrate their nuptials. We booked our flights, packed our bags, and prepared the countdown the wedding weekend in Washington.

Washington Wedding Weekend.

But what did we bring for such a short trip, one that would include both city and rural adventures, along with a wedding? Here’s what I brought, how I packed it, and the new bag that made my life a whole lot easier.

My Packing List:

Wedding Weekend in Washington: What I Packed

Green dress for the wedding
Skinny black pants
Skinny jeans
White tank top
Black tank top
Grey t-shirt
Grey sweater
Short-sleeved beige sweater
Off-white hooded leather jacket

Shoes & Accessories:
Leopard flats
Gold wedges
Gold belt

The Bag: Revo Radius

Revo Radius Review

For the longest time, I have been looking for the perfect hard-side carry-on piece, and as soon as the Radius arrived on my doorstep, I knew I had finally found it. Ultra-lightweight with a sleek look and design, I couldn’t wait to put it to the test, and my first opportunity to use it was the trip to Washington.

What I love: The 360ΒΊ spinner wheels made navigating the airports in both New York and Seattle a piece of cake. I also loved the sleek appearance, as well as how light-weight the bag was, making it easy for me to put in the overhead compartment. I’m short, and with other bags I’ve always needed help, but this bag gave me complete independence. I also loved that the bag essentially had two compartments, making it ideal for separating clean and dirty clothes throughout the trip. Finally, the built in lock system eliminated the need for a separate lock, again making my life easier, because while I often use a lock on my bag, I almost always wind up losing it mid-way through a trip. This bag has everything I would need, all conveniently wrapped up in one piece.

What I’d change: There’s nothing I’d change, but I did have to get used to switching to a hard-side bag. I didn’t realize how much I would miss exterior pockets. Once I got used to the idea, I actually preferred the smooth exterior, one that didn’t get caught while placing it in the overhead compartment, but it definitely took some time to adjust to.

Verdict: This is officially my new favorite piece of luggage, ideal for a quick weekend trip. It’s easy to maneuver, spacious, and stylish; everything I’d want in a carry-on bag.

A special thanks to Revo for sending over the Radius bag for me to test out. As always, my opinions are my own.

Spread the love

Nice luggage. I wish my wife could figure out how to pack so efficiently. I loved being in the Albuquerque airport this weekend cramming things from our one overweight checked bag into our carry ons so we wouldn’t be charged extra.

Haha, aww, well, packing light is an art form for sure! I bet it’s more difficult traveling with a little one too. Right now, with just me, it’s easy. πŸ™‚

I have never had a real piece of luggage. It has either been a backpack or a duffel. Someday when I grow up I will buy a real suitcase.

    1. The World Wanderer

I hope you never grow up! I like you just the way you are!

Looks like a great bag. I am a Tumi girl for many years and usually keep my eyes closed when it comes to luggage

    1. The World Wanderer

Tumi bags are nice too. I love getting new luggage. πŸ™‚

I see people wheeling around those fancy 360-degree spinner suitcases and think, Those look cool. And I definitely appreciate the option of separating clean clothes & dirty clothes. Then I wouldn’t have to pack my own garbage bag for the dirty laundry πŸ™‚

    1. The World Wanderer

You need to get one! Seriously, I had no idea how much easier they actually were to use. I am also obsessed with the two compartments, as I used to travel with a garbage bag too. πŸ˜‰

think it would take me a while to get used to the hard bag. i always have such a hard time bringing rolling bags anywhere because its tough to get through the subway turnstyles in nyc! ps, you and lola looked adorbs at the wedding! xo, the wino

    1. The World Wanderer

Agreed that they can definitely be tricky with turnstyles. This one was the most convenient one I’ve found so far. Why thank you! It was a fabulous time. xx

    1. The World Wanderer

Thank you!! The green dress is from Francesca’s – super cute shop, they may have one in Chicago! Yes, this bag is so sleek, I feel so stylish wheeling it around.

  8. Leah

I’m a HUGE believer in the spinner, hard side suitcase. The fact that this one is red is an added bonus.

    1. The World Wanderer

Now, I am too, Leah! It’s such a fantastic bag, I am borderline obsessed. πŸ™‚

  9. Raul (@ilivetotravel)

I have been so thankful they invented those 360 degree wheels. It has been a life -and patience- saver during years of travel especially when dealing with an airplane. I like the idea of a built-in lock – clever!

    1. The World Wanderer

Tell me about it, Raul, especially when traveling solo! Yes! I love the built in lock – can’t lose it!

  10. Mary Anne

It’s a tricky game.. packing. I wish I was better at it.
