At the start of this year, I decided that I wanted to spend my summer in South America, mainly because my goal has been to visit all seven continents before I turn thirty: South America and Antarctica. I even began South American Sunday to narrow down which country I would visit. However, after thinking about it, I held back and decided to save money this summer and thought I would be taking a cross country road trip instead. When that proved to be just as expensive, or more, than a trip to a foreign country, that idea also fell apart. Months away from summer, I was left with no real plans.
But, good things fall apart so better things can come together, right? That’s exactly what has happened. I was offered an opportunity to explore two South American countries, and I just couldn’t pass it up.
Which is why, in exactly one week (I can hardly believe it!), I will be off to Chile and Argentina for one week. I can barely contain my excitement, especially because I didn’t know this was going to be happening.
There are no real plans as of yet, but I do know that I will spend a few days in Santiago, Chile, and then head through the Andes to Mendoza, Argentina. It’s a dream trip, and it’s all happening so soon. I absolutely cannot wait!
My tickets have been bought, now all that’s left for me to do, is pack my bags…
