Music Monday: Fast Car

Music Monday: Fast Car

While Tracy Chapman may have made this song famous, it’s the version by Boyce Avenue that will forever remind me of Africa. During the long rides in our overland truck, we passed the time by playing games and listening to music. Rae, one of the girls on the trip, introduced me to this song, and I could not get enough of it. I still can’t.

Band: Boyce Avenue

Song: Fast Car

Favorite lyrics: City lights lay out before us and your arm felt nice wrapped ’round my shoulder and I had a feeling that I belonged and I had a feeling I could be someone.

I must say I absolutely love the original song by Tracy Chapman that I heard back in the good old days but listening to this version is quite refreshing! Beautiful!

The words and melody is so soothing and makes me think of that long drive from Toronto to Montreal in the middle of the night. I played that CD over and over and helped me get home safe and sound while happily singing alone in the car!

    Thanks for sharing 😉
